AIAA Announces 2010 Advertising Rates for Aerospace America, our Web site, and the AIAA Daily Launch
The aerospace industry has a storied past and an exciting future, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has been an integral part of the aerospace industry for over 75 years. Its membership is made up of the top leaders in the companies, organizations, and agencies that comprise the multi-billion dollar civilian and military flight industry. AIAA members are involved in the state-of-the-art fields of modern aviation and space exploration — manned and unmanned flight, rocketry, satellite design, commercial and military aircraft, space flight, navigation systems, propulsion systems, and communications. And they design, test, and build the systems, subsystems, and components required in the highly complex products relied upon every day in commercial and defense aviation and in space flight and exploration. ... the number one way to reach aerospace decision makers.

AIAA Mourns Passing of Dick Whitcomb
AIAA mourns the death of aviation science pioneer and AIAA Honorary Fellow Richard T. “Dick” Whitcomb. Dr. Whitcomb passed away on 13 Oct. at the age of 86. AIAA president Dave Thompson stated: “Richard ‘Dick’ Whitcomb’s tenacious pursuit of ways to make planes fly farther, faster, and with less fuel use, resulted in the aviation industry that we rely on today. Without his development of the transonic area rule, the supercritical wing, or the winglet, aviation as we know it would not exist. His efforts place him forever in the firmament of outstanding aviation pioneers and, as we mourn his loss, we salute his life and efforts on behalf of aeronautical science.”
