Aviation Week reports that in materials dated May 7, the FAA “‘cannot confirm the legality’ of using technologies designed to detect small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), the agency states.” The FAA provided “information to airport operators interested in testing systems that can detect and track drones flying within the vicinity of an airport and so-called counter-UAS (C-UAS) systems capable of disabling” and “taking control of” UAS.
