Boeing Hopes To Complete 737 MAX Fix By September

28 June 2019
Reuters reports that an official at The Boeing Company said that the company will need to continue developing the software update for the 737 MAX into September, pushing the reintroduction of the aircraft back until at least October. The news comes after Boeing announced that the FAA had found an additional issue with the existing 737 MAX software that Boeing must address before the FAA allows the jet to fly again. Airlines had expected the ungrounding of the 737 MAX by September, as American Airlines CEO Doug Parker said on June 12 that he believed that it was “highly likely” that the jet would be cleared for flights by mid-August.
