General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and Tactical Air Support demonstrated an open-architecture approach to autonomous drone operations during a July 21 flight test involving human-machine teaming. Aviation NewsDaily reports the demonstration used “passive sensors and autonomous software” to track and eliminate an airborne target, highlighting the ability to integrate different technologies into a modular mission system.
