NASA is preparing several moves aimed at keeping Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft flying, with Ars Technica reporting that the agency will order two additional crewed missions, help cover costs to resolve the spacecraft’s thruster issues, and support certification on a new launch vehicle. The steps come as NASA considers “a future without access to SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft” and seeks to ensure Starliner is safer and can continue operating after the Atlas V rocket retires.
