The Wall Street Journal reports that a shortage of available rockets is creating a scramble across the space industry as companies search for ways to deploy satellites and spacecraft while many new launch vehicles remain behind schedule. Some executives are pursuing “costly strategies to ensure they can fly,” including developing their own rockets or potentially acquiring a launch company. The tightening supply of launch options is also pushing prices higher for many missions.
