28th Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Conference and Seminar

An AIAA Co-sponsored Conference

The AIAA Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Technical Committee, in collaboration with The Royal Aeronautical Society, is pleased to announce our 28th Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Conference and Seminar.

The Conference and Seminar will be held 1–5 June 2026. 1–3 June will involve solicited technical paper presentations at The Royal Aeronautical Society in London, UK, followed by an advanced materials seminar 4–5 June hosted by The National Aerospace Library in Farnborough, UK and Heathcoat Fabrics Limited in Tiverton, UK. Coach transportation will be provided between venues on 4–5 June.

Please register your interest at RAeS Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Conference and Seminar 2026. The Committee solicits abstracts on the topics given below. Please plan to submit an extended abstract by 18 December 2025 with full papers due on 4 May 2026.

Soliciting topics on parachute and aerodynamic decelerator design, testing, and analysis; including, but not limited to:

  • Advanced cargo delivery systems using clusters of parachutes
  • Ram air parafoils for payload delivery
  • Mars Parachute and Deployable Aeroshell Applications
  • Interplanetary Parachute Applications, including Venus and Titan destinations
  • Commercial Earth Return Parachute Applications
  • Orion and Artemis Mission Parachute Systems
  • Sample Return Parachute Systems
  • Alternative ways of payload delivery such as gliders, inflatable wings, and projectile delivery

26th Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Technology Conference and Seminar (ADSTCS)

The AIAA Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Technology Conference and Seminar (ADSTCS) provides the world’s leading scientists, engineers, researchers, managers, and promising students within the field of parachute and aerodynamic decelerator systems an opportunity to present recent advances before a knowledgeable international audience. Topics include design and development, materials and manufacturing, modeling and simulation, system applications and operations, testing, and more. The four-day long conference is set in a stimulating and thought-provoking environment.

Conference Objective

ADSTCS is organized to promote interdisciplinary understanding of aerodynamic decelerator systems, their underlying science and technology, and their applications to government and commercial endeavors.
