Dr. Olivia Pinon Fischer is a Senior Research Engineer within the School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she leads the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL)’s Digital Engineering Division. In her current position, Dr. Pinon Fischer leads and manages multi-disciplinary research teams in the fields of digital engineering, digital twins & ecosystems, model-based systems engineering, and ML/AI. Dr. Pinon Fischer is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of AIAA’s Digital Engineering Integration Committee, Design Engineering Technical Committee, and Air Transportation System Technical Committee. She is also a member of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) Programme Committee and a member of NAFEMS’ Engineering Data Science Working Group. Vanessa E. Wyche
Vanessa E. Wyche is the director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, home to America’s astronaut corps, Mission Control Center, International Space Station, Orion and Gateway programs and its more than 10,000 civil service and contractor employees. She is responsible for overseeing a broad range of human spaceflight activities, including development and operation of human spacecraft, commercialization of low-Earth orbit and Johnson’s role in landing the first woman and first person of color on the surface of the Moon.
Wyche was most recently deputy director at Johnson, a position she held since 2018. Other key leadership positions Wyche has held at NASA include: assistant and acting deputy director of Johnson; director of the Exploration Integration and Science Directorate, flight manager of several missions of the retired Space Shuttle Program, executive officer in the Office of the NASA Administrator, and led additional center-level technical and program organizations. Before joining NASA in 1989, Wyche worked for the Food and Drug Administration in Washington D.C.
Wyche has received many prestigious awards including two NASA Outstanding Leadership Medals, two NASA Achievement Medals, and is a “Women at NASA” awardee. She’s been recognized as a national “Women Worth Watching” honoree by Profiles in Diversity Journal, and “Inspiring Woman from South Carolina” by Coastal Carolina University. She is a current fellow of the International Women’s Forum.
Wyche is a native of South Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master of Science in Bioengineering from Clemson University. In recognition of her contributions to the engineering profession she was inducted into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Engineers and Scientists at Clemson University in 2019.
A strong supporter of innovation and inclusion (I&I), she serves as a member of JSC’s I&I Council and advocates for mentorship at all levels. She is also a passionate promoter of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) serving on the Houston Exponential board of directors, is a member of the University of Houston’s C. T. Bauer College of Business Advisory Panel and is a past chair of the Space Center Houston board of directors. Wyche is active in multiple organizations in her community sharing her passion for STEM and future leader development.

Pamela Melroy (Colonel, USAF, Ret.)
Col. (USAF, ret) Pam Melroy was sworn in as the NASA Deputy Administrator on June 21.
As Deputy Administrator, Melroy performs the duties and exercises the powers delegated by the Administrator, assists the Administrator in making final agency decisions, and acts for the Administrator in his absence by performing all necessary functions to govern NASA operations. Melroy is also responsible for laying the agency’s vision and representing NASA to the Executive Office of the President, Congress, heads of federal and other appropriate government agencies, international organizations, and external organizations and communities.
Melroy was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program in 1983. As a co-pilot, aircraft commander, instructor pilot, and test pilot, Melroy logged more than 6,000 flight hours in more than 50 different aircraft before retiring from the Air Force in 2007. She is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Just Cause, with more than 200 combat and combat support hours.
Melroy was selected as an astronaut candidate by NASA in December 1994. Initially assigned to astronaut support duties for launch and landing, she also worked advanced projects for the Astronaut Office. She also performed Capsule Communicator (CAPCOM) duties in mission control. In addition, she served on the Columbia Reconstruction Team as the lead for the crew module and served as Deputy Project Manager for the Columbia Crew Survival Investigation Team. In her final position, she served as Branch Chief for the Orion branch of the Astronaut Office.
One of only two women to command a space shuttle, Melroy logged more than 38 days (924 hours) in space. She served as pilot on two flights, STS-92 in 2000 and STS-112 in 2002, and was the mission commander on STS-120 in 2007. All three of her missions were assembly missions to build the International Space Station.
After serving more than two decades in the Air Force and as a NASA astronaut, Melroy took on a number of leadership roles, including at Lockheed Martin, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Nova Systems Pty, Australia, and as an advisor to the Australian Space Agency. She also served as an independent consultant and a member of the National Space Council’s Users Advisory Group.
Melroy holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Steven H. Walker
Dr. Steven H. Walker is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Lockheed Martin Corporation, where he is responsible for the company technology strategy, global research, mission development, and emerging operations technologies. He assumed the role in January 2020, and under his direction the organization is shaping the next era of operational capability and innovation for Lockheed Martin. As the primary liaison to the US and international science and technology community, he manages strategic partnerships with government, industry, and academia to ensure the maturation and deployment of cutting-edge technologies.
Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Dr. Walker was the Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where he was responsible for driving development of emerging technologies for use by the military. Throughout his 30+ years in government, he also served in a variety of increasingly responsible positions as DARPA’s Deputy Director and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Science, Technology and Engineering. In the later role he was responsible for developing the technology investment strategy for the Air Force’s annual $2 billion science and technology program and for providing functional management of more than 14,000 military and civilian scientists and engineers.
Dr. Walker is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics; he received the AIAA Hap Arnold Award for Excellence in Aeronautical Management in 2014. He has also been awarded the Presidential Rank Award, the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service medal, and the DoD Exceptional, Meritorious, and Distinguished Civilian Service medals. In Feb 2020, Dr. Walker was elected as a Member of the National Academy of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. and B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton.
Phillip J. Ansell
Dr. Phillip J. Ansell is an Associate Professor and Allen Ormsbee Faculty Scholar in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois. He is the Director of the Center for Sustainable Aviation (CSA) and the Director of the Center for High-Efficiency Electrical Technologies for Aircraft (CHEETA). He is the principal investigator of a NASA University Leadership Initiative multi-disciplinary program focused on developing advanced technologies for zero-emissions aircraft, and he also serves as the Chair of the AIAA Electrified Aircraft Technology Technical Committee. In recognition for his efforts he has been granted the AIAA Lawrence Sperry Award, Young Investigator Awards from ARO and AFOSR, and was included on the list of Forbes 30 Under 30 under the Science category. Prof. Ansell earned his Ph.D. (2013) and M.S. (2010) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his B.S. (2008) in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University.

Kevin Antcliff is a conceptual designer and systems analyst who works with NASA researchers and industry partners to evaluate the benefit of various emerging technologies and envision the future of aviation.
Kevin believes that aviation should be a part of our everyday lives. For over ten years he has worked at NASA Langley Research Center to promote this belief by developing and analyzing regional air mobility (RAM), urban air mobility (UAM), and hybrid-electric commercial aircraft concepts.
Kevin currently serves as the Deputy Lead for Emerging Applications and Technologies and is an active member of the AIAA Transformational Flight Integration and Outreach Committee and AHS Transformative Vertical Flight Working Groups.
Kevin holds a Master and Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Greg Bowles
Greg Bowles is the Head of Government Affairs for Joby Aviation. Greg engages with the aviation community and policy makers to advance the introduction of a new generation of local air transportation that is so safe, quiet, and cost effective that it will become a part of our daily lives.
For almost two decades, Greg has been working to foster the worldwide safety and success of the aviation community. During this time, he championed efforts to reform thousands of regulations and paved the way for new enabling aviation technologies.
Previously Greg served as the V.P. of Global Innovation & Policy for the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. Prior to that he held positions with leading rotorcraft and airplane manufacturers in advanced design and regulatory roles. Greg is a member of the ASTM Board of Directors and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Daniel P. Raymer
Dan Raymer is President of the design and consulting company, Conceptual Research Corporation, and serves as Program Manager, Configuration Designer, and Chief Engineer for its varied projects. Currently these include the DARPA Flying Missile Rail, the Raymer Manned Mars Plane, and a proprietary high-altitude UAV.
Recipient of the prestigious AIAA Aircraft Design Award, Dr. Raymer is a recognized expert in the areas of Aerospace Vehicle Design and Configuration Layout, Computer-aided Design Methodologies and Design Education. During his 10 years in the Advanced Design Department of Rockwell (North American Aviation) he conceived and did the layout design of Rockwell’s entries in what became the F-22, B-2, and T-45 programs, and was Head of Air Vehicle Design for X-31 from “blank sheet of paper” (CAD screen) to the configuration that flew (with minor fabrication-driven changes).
His industry career includes positions as Director-Advanced Design with Lockheed, Director-Future Missions at the Aerojet Propulsion Research Institute, and Project Manager-Engineering at Rockwell North American Aviation. He also served as a research engineer and aerospace design consultant at the famous RAND Corporation think tank.
Dr. Raymer is the author of the best-selling textbook “Aircraft Design: A Conceptual Approach” and the well-regarded layman’s book, “Dan Raymer’s Simplified Aircraft Design for Homebuilders”. His biographical book, “Living In The Future: The Education and Adventures of an Advanced Aircraft Designer”, covers his career and his design projects including most of those described below.
Raymer wrote and continues to improve the RDSwin aircraft design and analysis software. This is 100,000 lines of original source code including a full CAD module, calculations of aerodynamics, propulsion, weights, performance, range, mission sizing, and cost, plus carpet plots and MDO including stepping searches and Genetic Algorithms (in the professional version).
Raymer has received both Rockwell Engineer of the Year and the AIAA Summerfield Book awards. He is a Fellow of the American Inst. of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) and the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry (ISPE).
Dr. Raymer teaches a variety of advanced design short courses including the well-known five-day Aircraft Conceptual Design Short Course which has been attended by over 3,000 engineers to date. Dr. Raymer is often a Forum Speaker at the EAA AirVenture (Oshkosh).
Dr. Raymer received B.S. and M.S. engineering degrees in Astronautics and Aeronautics from Purdue, an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a Doctorate of Engineering (Ph.D.) from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). He is a recipient of the Purdue University Outstanding Aerospace Engineer Award which is given “to honor those alumni who have distinguished themselves in the aerospace industry”. Dr. Raymer is listed in both Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
Steve Luczynski
Steve Luczynski is a former US Air Force fighter pilot who is now the Board Chairman for the Aerospace Village when he’s not working with clients to improve the security of their critical infrastructure as a Senior Manager at Accenture. After retiring in 2017, he continued his career in infosec as a Chief Information Security Officer, leading a pandemic task force at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and promoting better collaboration across government, industry, and hackers.
