2022 Region II Student Conference

Registration is now closed.

Take part in AIAA’s Regional Student Conference by presenting your research in a formal technical meeting, exchange ideas, and discuss programs with students from other universities in your region.

You must be an AIAA Student Member and attending a college/university or high school in Region II to participate in the Region II Student Conference.

Region II includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Additionally, it includes students from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place winners for each category. First-place regional winners are then invited to participate in the AIAA Foundation International Student Conference, held during the AIAA SciTech Forum each January.

ADDITIV Aerospace 2.0

ADDITIV Aerospace is back! After the success of the event last year, ADDITIV Aerospace 2.0 will be taking place 26 April 2022 at 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. EDT (3:00 – 11:30 p.m. CEST). Like in 2021, the conference will be broken up into panel discussions, webinars and networking sessions in order to learn and connect with AM and aerospace professionals in one incredible event.

This year, attendees will be able to learn more about topics ranging from AM certification in aviation, key applications of AM in space such as with satellites and 3D printed rockets, sustainability in the sector, the most important AM materials for aerospace and how AM is helping to advance interplanetary colonization. 2019 Region I Student Conference

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) sponsors student conferences in each AIAA Region as a means to encourage students in aerospace-related fields to discuss research, exchange knowledge, and generate interest in the field of aerospace engineering. This Call for Papers solicits papers for the 2019 AIAA Region I Student Conference.

The conference’s three categories—Undergraduate, Masters, and Undergraduate Team— each have three prizes that are funded by the AIAA Foundation.

Registration Cost

$50.00

Once you register, you will be subject to all fees, terms, and conditions applicable to the conference as outlined on this page. If you choose not to attend the conference after you’ve registered and you do not notify the conference administration before the cancellation deadline of 2359 hrs EDT on 24 March 2019, you will be required to pay a $50.00 cancellation fee.

Cancelled – 2020 Region IV Student Conference

The student and volunteer organizers of the AIAA Region IV Student Conference have cancelled their conference due to concerns about the coronavirus.

The Region IV Student Conference was scheduled to be held 27-28 March at Oklahoma State University and has been cancelled at this time out of an abundance of caution due to a concern for the health and safety of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. Information regarding refunds of registration fees will be forthcoming. Student papers submitted to the conference will still be evaluated by technical judges, and feedback will be provided after reviews have been completed.

The Region V Student Conference was scheduled to be held 2-3 April at Wichita State University and has been cancelled at this time out of an abundance of caution due to a concern for the health and safety of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. AIAA will provide a full refund of conference registration fees in the next 3 to 5 business days. Students are still encouraged to submit their papers by 21 March 2020 to be evaluated for feedback from judges.

However, a decision has been reached to cancel the conference at this time out of an abundance of caution due to a concern for the health and safety of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. 2020 Regional Leadership Conference

The Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) is a great opportunity for section officers, student branch chairs, and branch faculty advisors to come together to meet fellow officers, share experiences, and receive volunteer leadership training as a way to share best practices and continue hosting successful section and student branch activities.

The 2020 RLC is being hosted virtually using Zoom and with one session per week over a seven-week period. Session topics include online resources.

2020 AIAA Young Professionals, Students, and Educators (YPSE) Conference

The Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is organizing the AIAA Young Professionals, Students, and Educators (YPSE) Conference, to be held October 15th through October 16, 2020 in a fully virtual environment. Technical presentations in any area of interest to the aerospace community by Young Professionals (age 35 and under), Graduate, Undergraduate, High School Students and Educators are sought. Best presentation awards will be awarded in each category.

Registration is now open. Please register at aiaaypse.com before October 1st, 2020. If you would like to present at the conference, please indicate this on your registration. We are accepting abstracts for 15 minute presentations in any aerospace related category. Please submit abstracts no later than September 25th. You can update your registration to include your abstract at any time prior to this deadline.
