2023 Region II Student Conference

Please note: A university student in good standing at their institution who is also an AIAA student member is eligible to submit a paper to the Regional Student Conference. The submitting and presenting author(s) must be AIAA student members. Any student may attend the Regional Student Conference but may be subjected to a higher registration fee if they are not AIAA members. You must be attending a college/university in Region II to participate in the Region II Student Conference.

Region II includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Additionally, it includes students from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place winners for each category. First-place regional winners are then invited to participate in the AIAA Foundation International Student Conference, held during the AIAA SciTech Forum each January.

4th International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) Conference on Space Situational Awareness (ICSSA)

The 4th IAA Conference on Space Situational Awareness will take place at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL, 8–10 May 2024.

icssalogoThe foremost purpose of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) is to provide decision-making processes with a quantifiable and timely body of evidence (predictive/imminent/forensic) of behavior(s) attributable to specific space domain threats and hazards. The conference will cover broad-ranging technical and policy related aspects associated with the topic of SSA.

Region VII – Australia/International Student Conference

This year’s Region VII Student Paper Conference will be held on 4-5 December 2019 at the Gold Coast, Queensland (Australia) in conjunction with the 2019 Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Aerospace Technology (APISAT). This event is sure to provide you with ample opportunity to network with your peers and present your work in front of industry professionals. As a reminder, students planning to participate in the Region VII Student Paper Conference must make their own housing arrangements. APISAT has contracted with the host hotel for a block of hotel rooms at a reduced rate, or you may make your accommodations at a nearby hotel or Air BnB.

Registration & Cancellation

Registration for this conference is free of charge, however, you must be an AIAA Student Member to register.

Registration cancellation must be received by 01 November 2019. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].

Additionally, it includes students from the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place winners for each category. First-place regional winners are then invited to participate in the AIAA Foundation International Student Conference, held during the AIAA SciTech Forum each January.

2023 Region VII Student Conference

Abstract Submissions Closed | Abstract Deadline: 13 September 2023

AIAA is pleased to announce that the Region VII/International Student Conference will be held from 27–28 November 2023 at the University of New South Wales Canberra, Canberra, Australia, and online. This conference is intended for AIAA Region VII Students from around the world, with the exceptions of Canada and Mexico, which have been incorporated into AIAA’s North America Regions. The conference will also be hybrid with an online component to accommodate students who are not able to travel to Australia to present their paper in-person.

The AIAA Region VII Student Conference is a technical and oral paper competition for undergraduate and graduate students of all majors! Connect with professionals in the Aerospace industry and also meet other like-minded students who share similar interests, and receive feedback on your work! Students may submit any paper that covers the technical disciplines of AIAA, and will have the chance to compete for cash prizes in a fun-filled two-day event. First-place winners will be offered a chance to compete in the 2024 International Student Conference, taking place in conjunction with the 2024 AIAA SciTech Forum, with flight, lodging, and most expenses paid.

*This competition is subject to all applicable laws, including US export laws. US law prevents AIAA from accepting registration fees, awarding prize money to, providing feedback on or publishing entries from, persons residing in Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Crimea, Sudan, or Syria. Additionally with respect to the conflict in Ukraine, AIAA will continue our practice not allowing Russian- or Belarusian-based students to participate in the AIAA Region VII Student Conference.

2024 Region II Student Conference
