Space News reports the Space Development Agency approved L3Harris “to move into production on “16 Tracking Layer Tranche 1 satellites “designed to detect and monitor hypersonic missiles aimed at the U.S. or its allies.” Defense Daily reports, “The Tranche 1 Tracking Layer will identify and track hypersonic weapons and advanced missiles, as part of the SDA’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.”

State Department Approves Sale of Sidewinder Missles to Canada
Defense Daily reports, “The State Department last Friday said it has approved a potential $264.6 million sale to Canada of AIM-9X Block II and Block II+ air-launched missiles and related systems. The Sidewinder is built by RTX [RTX].”

Defense One reports, “The Pentagon has picked three companies—Blue Origin, SpaceX, and United Launch Alliance—for its new satellite launch competition that was built to usher new entrants into the market … This marks a big win for Blue Origin, which has yet to fly a national security mission.”

KC-46 Approved for TRANSCOM Missions
Air Force Times reported that Air Mobility Command announced Friday that the KC-46 Pegasus tanker “is now able to refuel the Air Force’s fourth-generation fighter jets during missions for U.S. Transportation Command, expanding the service’s air refueling capacity and the capability of its newest tanker.”
