EATS: 2023 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

  • High voltage aviation electrical systems have unique design challenges to meet ultrahigh power density and reliability requirements under extreme operation conditions. One critical aspect is the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), such as emission and susceptibility, etc. This panel invites experts in EMC engineering from different domains, including EMC testing, flight demo system integration, sub-system, material, modeling, and industrial standard to share their views on EMC challenges and opportunities for the high voltage aviation electrical systems.

PEG-01 In-Person Technical Lecture: Current Research Topics of Relevance to Propulsion and Energy

This session will feature short talks by representatives of the technical committees within the Propulsion & Energy Group to introduce their current technical focus areas and to highlight special topic sessions at this meeting. Technical committees represented include Gas Turbine Engines, High-Speed Air-Breathing Propulsion, Propellants & Combustion, Pressure-Gain Combustion, Liquid Propulsion, Solid & Hybrid Rockets, Electric Propulsion, Aerospace Power Systems, Energetic Components & Systems, Inlets, Nozzles & Propulsion Integration, Terrestrial Energy and Small Rockets.

S&T Wargaming Demo: Emerging Disruptive Technologies

Join us for a modified demonstration of a strike game. The demo game will examine how to prosecute various targets using different combinations of platforms and munitions. The demo has been modified to account for a larger group of participants, and is meant to highlight the quick-turn development and execution key for successful agile games through the lens of emerging disruptive technologies. Players do not need to have any prior experience in wargaming or specific subject matter areas.

Lecture: Clean Aviation Programme

Achieving Sustainable Flight: How Disruptive Technologies Will Get Us There
This session presents Clean Aviation, the European Union’s leading research and innovation programme for transforming aviation towards a sustainable and climate-neutral future. Executive Director, Axel Krein, will explore why collective global efforts must focus on disruptive solutions that target CO2 and non-CO2 emissions. This deep dive will showcase state-of-the-art European innovations and provide insights into cutting edge-research streams.
