Space Symposium Attendees Comment On Bridenstine Written 20 April 2018

Aerospace America interviewed attendees of the Space Symposium about their thoughts on Jim Bridenstine, “whose nomination was mired in controversy in the months since he was named.” Attendees reported that “they were ready to move forward” from the past controversies, chiefly “because of what they see as his strong support for the US industry and space exploration.” Aerospace software provider Analytical Graphics Vice President of Business Development Paul Welsh is “optimistic with his confirmation,” due to Bridenstine’s understanding of the “value of commercial innovation,” while SES Networks Head of Government Product Development Rich Pang cited “very positive” interactions with Bridenstine. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers Managing Director of Strategy Consulting Curt Bigelow, Bridenstine “understands the importance of space,” and Bigelow expects that Bridenstine will “get the funding and everything headed in the right direction.”
