Aviation Week reported that deliveries of CFM International’s Leap-1 engines “are about to overtake those of the CFM56 for the first time.” The development is a “watershed moment” for the GE Aviation-Safran Aircraft Engines joint venture, and “comes as combined deliveries of the two engine families remain on course to reach between 2,000 and 2,250 for the year, despite production system issues that have put the company behind its delivery schedule of Leap-1Bs to Boeing.”
