If you are interested in the future of your profession, the advancement of technology, the furthering of scientific research, and the strengthening of our nation’s security, this event is for you!

Cancelled – Congressional Visits Day 2020

CVD Canceled

Dear CVD Registrant:

We are sensitive to the worldwide concern regarding the coronavirus infection, and we have been closely monitoring the situation. AIAA has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Congressional Visits Day (CVD) program because the health and safety of participants is our utmost priority. CVD is an important program to AIAA and our members and we look forward to the 2021 event.

It is the responsibility of each participant to cancel his or her travel and lodging accommodations as AIAA cannot be responsible for these associated costs. It is also the responsibility of every state team to cancel their scheduled meetings with their respective congressional delegations. Please offer to provide the appropriate staffer with an electronic version of our 2020 Key Issues, state fact sheets, and pertinent Information Papers so they understand how vital aerospace is to national security and the economy. Moreover, it is highly encouraged for members and section leaders to hold meetings with their congressional representatives while they are in the district during congressional recesses. All documents are available for download on the AIAA website.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Cancelled
The 6 April policy breakfast featuring NASA’s Doug Loverro has been cancelled.

This new initiative is designed to connect AIAA members and perspective members with government stakeholders and other thought leaders. The educational series will cover topical issues of relevance to the aerospace community and offers a great opportunity to network with key representatives from government, industry, and academia. All events will take place in the Washington, D.C., area, have limited access, and be considered “off the record.”

Our second event will feature Doug Loverro, Associate Administrator for NASA’s Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate. He will speak about the mission directorate’s FY2021 budget request, NASA’s exploration plans, and how the agency is going to achieve its goal of returning American astronauts to the moon by 2024.

A breakfast buffet will be offered during the check-in and networking portion of the program.

Briefing: NASA’s Jim Reuter (Free Webinar)

Jim Reuter’s Presentation

Reuter will share the latest information from the Space Technology Mission Directorate that will enable future NASA and commercial missions and the opportunities for involvement. Technology drives exploration to the Moon, Mars and beyond, and our investments in revolutionary, American-made innovations provide solutions on Earth and in space.

Briefing: NASA’s Steve Jurczyk (Free Webinar)

AIAA hosted a free webinar, sponsored by Blue Origin, featuring Steve Jurczyk, NASA Associate Administrator.
