Professor Daniele Mortari

Professor Daniele Mortari is a distinguished scholar renowned for his research in spacecraft attitude determination, star tracker data processing, satellite constellation design, and applied mathematics. Over his career, he has supervised several Ph.D. and M.S. students, authored over 130 journal articles, 250 conference papers, and delivered over 100 invited seminars. Dr. Mortari has been widely recognized for his work, including Best Paper Awards from AAS/AIAA conference and from Mathematics and Advances in Space Research journals, three NASA Group Achievement Awards, the 2007 IEEE Judith A. Resnik Award, and the 2015 AAS Dirk Brouwer Award. He was elected Fellow of IEEE, AAS, AIIA, and AAIA, an Associate Fellow of AIAA, a member of the International Academy of Astronautics, and an honorary member of IEEE-AESS and AIDAA. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Functional Interpolation section of the journal Mathematics and has previously been an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems and the AAS Journal of the Astronautical Sciences.

27th AIAA International Space Planes and Hypersonic Systems and Technologies Conference

The 27th AIAA International Space Planes and Hypersonic Systems and Technologies Conference, jointly organized with the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (A.I.D.A.A), will provide a forum for discussion and exchange of information for attendees from across the globe about leading-edge research and development activities associated with space planes and hypersonic atmospheric flight vehicles and the technologies underpinning these capabilities.  Presentations will be provided on national programs from Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and Asia and multiple opportunities for international collaboration will be discussed.  Technical paper topics include planned and ongoing space plane and hypersonic vehicle programs, advanced launch vehicle and hypersonic atmospheric flight vehicle concepts, commercial space tourism concepts, ground and flight testing techniques, results, and lessons learned, reentry vehicle systems and technologies, aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics of space planes and hypersonic vehicles, guidance and control systems, rocket, ramjet, scramjet, and other advanced propulsion systems, including component technologies (e.g., inlets, combustion systems, fuel injection concepts, ignition and flameholding concepts, nozzles), high-temperature materials, hot structures and thermal protection systems, health monitoring and management technologies, and more.  Special panel sessions will be organized around relevant topics of strong global interest.

6th Symposium of the Committee on Space Research: Space Exploration 2025: A Symposium on Humanity’s Challenges and Celestial Solutions – “COSPAR 2025”

Host Organizations: Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) in cooperation with the Cyprus Space Exploration Organisation (CSEO).

This Symposium, themed “Space Exploration 2025: A Symposium on Humanity’s Challenges and Celestial Solutions”, will delve into critical global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and space weather, while exploring how space exploration and technology can offer solutions. It will present various matters related to ongoing and planned space programs, fostering discussions on international collaboration, ethical considerations, and the role of emerging nations in space exploration.
