2019 Region III Student Conference

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) sponsors student conferences in each AIAA Region as a means to encourage students in aerospace-related fields to discuss research, exchange knowledge, and generate interest in the field of aerospace engineering. This Call for Papers solicits papers for the 2019 AIAA Region III Student Conference.

The conference’s three categories—Undergraduate, Masters, and Undergraduate Team— each have three prizes that are funded by the AIAA Foundation.

Registration Cost

$25.00

Once you register, you will be subject to all fees, terms, and conditions applicable to the conference as outlined on this page. If you choose not to attend the conference after you’ve registered and you do not notify the conference administration before the cancellation deadline of 2359 hrs EDT on 24 March 2019, you will be required to pay a $50.00 cancellation fee.

Cancelled – 2020 Region IV Student Conference

The student and volunteer organizers of the AIAA Region IV Student Conference have cancelled their conference due to concerns about the coronavirus.

The Region IV Student Conference was scheduled to be held 27-28 March at Oklahoma State University and has been cancelled at this time out of an abundance of caution due to a concern for the health and safety of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. Information regarding refunds of registration fees will be forthcoming. Student papers submitted to the conference will still be evaluated by technical judges, and feedback will be provided after reviews have been completed.

The Region V Student Conference was scheduled to be held 2-3 April at Wichita State University and has been cancelled at this time out of an abundance of caution due to a concern for the health and safety of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. AIAA will provide a full refund of conference registration fees in the next 3 to 5 business days. Students are still encouraged to submit their papers by 21 March 2020 to be evaluated for feedback from judges.

Student papers submitted to the conferences will still be evaluated by technical judges, and feedback will be provided after reviews have been completed. However, a decision has been reached to cancel the conference at this time out of an abundance of caution due to a concern for the health and safety of visitors, students, faculty, and staff. AIAA will provide a full refund of conference registration fees in the next 3 to 5 business days.

Student papers submitted to the conferences will still be evaluated by technical judges, and feedback will be provided after reviews have been completed. Students are still encouraged to submit their papers to be evaluated for feedback from judges. 2020 Region VII Student Paper Competition & AIAA Sydney Section Student Conference

AIAA Sydney Section Student Conference Moves to Fully Online

AIAA has announced that the AIAA Sydney Section Student Conference, cosponsored by the AIAA Student Branch at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, NSW (Australia) and the AIAA Sydney Professional Section, set for 25–26 November 2020, will be fully online.

The University of New South Wales in Sydney, NSW will host this year’s Region VII Student Conference on 25–26 November. This will be a virtual event. Cohosted by the UNSW AIAA Student Branch and the AIAA Sydney Section. The 2020 Region VII Student Conference provides students with ample opportunity to network with their peers and professional members of industry and present their original research in front of a group of volunteer professional member judges who will provide them with feedback. Students will have the chance to compete for cash prizes in a fun-filled two-day event!

New! Announcing a Master’s Category – students pursuing a Master’s by research degree across AIAA Region VII are welcome to submit their papers to the 2020 Region VII Student Conference.

International Student Conference

The International Student Conference is an invitation-only student conference contained within the annual AIAA SciTech Forum and Exposition. First-place winners from each of the previous year’s AIAA Regional Student Conferences are invited to present their winning papers at the International Student Conference in front of a panel of professional member judges in the undergraduate, masters, and team categories. At the conclusion of the conference, the AIAA Foundation will award three $1,000 cash prizes to each category’s first place winners. Want to get invited to SciTech? 2021 Region II Student Conference

AIAA has announced that the AIAA 2021 Region II Student Conference, set for 5–9 April 2021, will be fully online. This conference is intended for AIAA Region II Students from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

The AIAA Region II Student Conference is a virtual technical and oral paper competition for undergraduate and graduate students of all majors! Connect with professionals in the Aerospace industry and also meet other like-minded students who share similar interests throughout the Southeastern United States. Students have the chance to compete for cash prizes in a fun-filled event. First-place winners in the Undergraduate, Masters, and Team categories will be offered a chance to compete in the 2022 International Student Conference, taking place in conjunction with the 2022 AIAA SciTech Forum, with flight, lodging, and most expenses paid.

This is a VIRTUAL EVENT via Microsoft Teams – Meeting links and conference booklet/program will be emailed to attendees one week before the conference starts.
