Join AIAA’s High School Mentor Match Program
The AIAA High School Mentor Match program is designed to connect high school students with an interest in aerospace to professional members who can share their knowledge, experience, and advice. Some students are looking to learn more about the field, and how to start positioning themselves for success; others want to see if aerospace is the right field for them. This program is intended for general mentorship and advice, not specific/direct support on individual school projects.
Become a Mentor Become a Mentee
Fall 2025 High School Cohort applications are open until 8 September, 2025.
Who Can Be a Mentor?
Any AIAA Professional or Young Professional Member can be a Mentor.
Who Can Be a Mentee?
For this round of Mentor Match, any current AIAA High School Student Member can be a Mentee.
What is the Program Format?
Members must first enroll as a Mentor or Mentee. During the enrollment process, members will select preferences for criteria such as mentoring topics.
Once the enrollment period closes, Mentors and Mentees will be matched in accordance with their criteria as much as possible. Within two weeks of the enrollment period closing Mentors and Mentees will be sent each other’s contact information to start their mentorship.
Once the Mentor and Mentee are matched the program lasts for 3 months, wherein the Mentor and Mentee are encouraged to meet monthly for 30 minutes. After 3 months, it is up to the pair to decide if they will continue to meet with a regular cadence.
