Isaac de Souza

Isaac de Souza was born in Navi Mumbai, India, in 1991. He received a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India, in 2012, an M. Tech. degree in Cryogenics and Vacuum Technology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Rourkela, India, in 2018, and a Ph.D. degree from the Cryogenic Engineering Centre, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India, in 2025. From 2014 to 2015, he worked with Larsen and Toubro, Ahmedabad, India, as an Operations and Maintenance Engineer. He also worked at TriQual Cryogenics Pvt. Ltd. from 2020 to 2024 on the R&D team. Presently, he is working at Airbus and is part of the ZEROe team developing the world’s first hydrogen-powered commercial aircraft. One of his present activities at Airbus includes building and validating physics-based models related to cryogenic phenomena using tools like GT-Suite. His research interests include applications of applied superconductivity, cryocoolers, and hydrogen technology.
