AIAA SOSTC Improving Space Operations Workshop 2021

The 2021 AIAA SOSTC Improving Space Operations Workshop 2021, set for 6–8 April, will be held virtually.

You are invited to attend Improving Space Operations Workshop 2021, organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Space Operations & Support Technical Committee (SOSTC). The 2021 workshop will be held virtually 6–8 April and is jointly sponsored by AIAA, the SpaceOps Organization, Pearl River Technologies, Omitron, a.i. solutions, and ASRC Federal.

The objectives of the workshop are:

  • Investigate the development, implementation, and operation of systems that support space related activities.
  • Focus on operations technologies associated with space operations infrastructure, including the internet and other commercial technologies.
  • Develop positions on operational issues needing AIAA input from a cross section of member expertise. Identify approaches and standards for making operations more affordable, more flexible, more productive, and safer.

As in past years, the emphasis will be on small groups (virtual breakout sessions) working to advance the level of understanding in several technical areas relevant to space operations. For any questions, please contact [email protected].

Note: Restrictions will be in place for non-US citizens. Only employees (not contractors) of the following space agencies are welcomed to register and participate (JAXA, CNES, ESA, DLR, ASI, CSA, ISRO). Those individuals will need to be registered no later than TBD. Picture ID issued by the respective space agency will be required.

41st Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC)

Join us in Portsmouth, Virginia for the 41st AIAA/IEEE Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC), the preeminent R&D conference in the field of digital avionics offered by two distinguished professional societies, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Continuing its rich tradition of incorporating attendees from diverse backgrounds to discuss relevant technical topics, the conference continues to provide an environment that includes educational and recreational opportunities. We welcome everyone to join us at the 41st DASC.

3rd Cognitive Communications for Aerospace Applications (CCAA) Workshop

The IEEE Cleveland Section and NASA Glenn Research Center invite participants to attend a three-day workshop: 21–23 June 2021, held virtually (more information coming soon).

This is the third workshop on cognitive telecommunications systems co-sponsored by IEEE Northeastern Ohio Chapter and NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH. The aim of this workshop is to bring together Researchers, Engineers, Technologists, and leaders across industry, government, and academia to discuss and present their recent advancements and future interest in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning with applications toward the development of cognitive telecommunication systems for aerospace.

33rd Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS)

After four years, the ICAS community will meet again to discuss Aeronautics Research and Innovation for Future Generations. The 33rd Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences will take place 4–9 September 2022, in Stockholm Sweden.

ICAS is an international, non-government, non-profit scientific organization with the mission to advance knowledge and facilitate collaboration in aeronautics. ICAS is the only international support organization to representative aeronautical engineering professional societies and their members in 30 countries. ICAS organizes every two years an International Congress covering all aspects of aeronautical science and technology and their application to both military and civil aviation.

2022 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference

The 2022 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference will be held 7–11 August 2022, at the Sheraton Le Méridien Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina (pending no further disruptions due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic). This conference is organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) Space Flight Mechanics Committee and co-sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Astrodynamics Technical Committee

2021 Integrated Communications Navigation and Surveillance Conference (ICNS)

The 2021 Integrated Communications Navigation and Surveillance Conference (ICNS) will be held virtually.

The Integrated Communications Navigation and Surveillance (ICNS) Conference is the premier international aviation conference addressing technology and policy advances in CNS research, development and implementation programs, and policies related to CNS/ATM capabilities and applications. The ICNS Conference assembles leaders from government, industry, and academia, as well as senior technical experts to address important policy issues and contribute to the future directions of CNS and ATM.

2020 Cybersecurity and Innovation – The New Era of Civil Aviation

As October is the European Cybersecurity Month (ENISA and EC DG CONNECT) we join forces with our partners, speakers and participants to create an insightful event that tackles on a series of issues in the cybersecurity and innovation fields, especially in these times of uncertainty and need for reform.  This year’s virtual event will include a virtual cocktail allowing for networking opportunities, two virtual panel discussions, and breakout rooms.

28th AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference

Details Agenda/Technical Program Manage Submissions

Please direct questions to: William Devenport, Virginia Tech, Alec Wilson, University of Southampton or Phil Joseph, University of Southampton.

The AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference has established itself as the premier international forum for the field of aeroacoustics. It offers scientists and engineers from industry, government and universities an exceptional opportunity to exchange knowledge and results of current studies and to discuss directions for future research. Papers that address all aspects of the generation, propagation, and control of vehicle noise, as well as the effect of noise on structures and individuals are solicited.

The program’s technical content will include theoretical, experimental, and numerical contributions that describe original research results and/or innovative design concepts including those related to recent advances in low-carbon aircraft architectures and urban air mobility vehicles. In addition, in-depth reviews and timely surveys will be considered. Topics identified for the conference are listed below. Papers in other related areas, including the application of aerospace noise suppression technologies in other industries, and non-aerospace research with potential application to the aerospace industry are encouraged.
