SciTech 101 – Week 1 Recap/Week 2 Outlook

Meet the Employers & Cocktail Reception

A can’t-miss opportunity where students and young professionals can interact with AIAA Corporate Members and find out what employment opportunities are available, all in a fun and dynamic environment. Participate in round table discussions from 1500–1700 hrs in the Cherry Blossom Ballroom, followed by a cocktail reception from 1700–1800 hrs in the Cherry Blossom Lobby. Space is limited to 400 participants.

Relax at the end of the day, play some games, and enjoy a taste of Texas complete with barbecue and cold brews. Enjoy a performance by North Texas singer-songwriter Maurice Davis. Known as “The King of Party Blues,” Davis has played in countless clubs and venues all over the country. (Note: Cash bar only. Due to heat the event has been relocated indoors to the Grand Ballroom.)

This event will provide all attendees an opportunity to discuss experiences and celebrate women who are leaders in their fields. This year’s theme is Navigating a Sustainable Career: sharing experiences to empower, embrace and encourage.

Ignite the "Meet"ing

Location

Nothing can be more intimidating than being a newcomer or young person at a conference or event where everyone already knows one another! Learn tips and techniques on networking and relationship building that will make your forum experience more enjoyable and productive. The session will focus on creating an introduction, understanding how to engage with others, playing off the unique networking styles of introverts and extroverts, and some “dos and don’ts” of networking. Then participants will take part in an activity designed to foster quick friendships so they never enter a forum session or reception feeling like a stranger.
