SpaceX Launches Sixth Falcon 9 In 17 Days

Spaceflight Now reported that SpaceX “sent a Falcon 9 rocket aloft Sunday from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with 53 more satellites for the company’s Starlink internet network, the sixth Falcon 9 launch in 17 days and 33rd overall this year.” Sunday’s launch “was the 20th Falcon 9 mission of the year dedicated to deploying satellites for the Starlink network.”

SpaceX Launches Next Starlink Batch After Five Days of Delays

Florida Today reports that the “Space Coast’s 40th launch of the year lifted off at 8:18 p.m. EDT Sunday night, Sept. 18, from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station after enduring five consecutive days of delays due to poor weather.” Dozens of “Starlink satellites deployed from the Falcon 9’s upper stage about 15 minutes after launch. The internet-beaming satellites will spend the next few days spacing out and raising their orbits before joining the more than 3,200 already in service.”
