SPACE reports, “Vast Space is scheduled to launch the Haven-1 space station to orbit this August. The single-module station will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, to be followed in short order by the launch of a SpaceX Crew Dragon that will ferry a small number of astronauts to temporarily inhabit that station. Now, SpaceX and Vast have issued a joint request for proposals on just what to do onboard once Haven-1 is in low-Earth orbit (LEO).”

SpaceX Cleared to Fly Cosmonauts by Roscosmos
Aviation Week reports that Roscosmos Director General Dimitry Rogozin said Monday that SpaceX has been cleared to fly cosmonauts on Crew Dragon after SpaceX conducted four crewed spaceflights with the Crew Dragon spacecraft.

SpaceX to Replace Heat Shield on Next Crew Dragon Launch
Space News reports that SpaceX “will replace the heat shield on the next Crew Dragon spacecraft flying to the International Space Station after it failed inspections, but NASA says there is no risk of a similar problem for the spacecraft currently at the station.”

SpaceX Ends Crew Dragon Production
The Daily Mail (UK) reports that SpaceX “has ended production of new Crew Dragon astronaut capsules, two years after the firm flew humans to space for the first time.” There are currently four Crew Dragons in SpaceX’s fleet. SpaceX executives “say the shift is to move resources into the next-generation spaceship program, known as Starship – that will include a lunar lander.”

Ax-1 Mission Crew Returns to Earth
Space.com reports that the Ax-1 mission’s four crewmembers returned to Earth Monday, successfully concluding “the first-ever all-private astronaut mission to the International Space Station.” The SpaceX crew capsule “carrying the four crewmembers … splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida” Monday at 1:06 p.m. EDT, “bringing the groundbreaking 17-day flight to a close.”

Weather Delays Return of Ax-1 Mission to Earth
Space News reports that poor weather has delayed the return of the Endeavour spacecraft from Wednesday morning to Wednesday afternoon. The delayed return “could affect the launch of another Crew Dragon on NASA’s Crew-4 mission,” scheduled to launch Saturday.
