NASA’s Juno Delivers New Science While Its Future Remains Uncertain
Ars Technica reports, “Jupiter’s colossal storms generate lightning flashes at least 100 times more powerful than those on Earth, according to scientists analyzing data from NASA’s Juno spacecraft. The findings were published March 20 in the journal AGU Advances. Researchers used data recorded by Juno in 2021 and 2022, after NASA granted an extension to the spacecraft’s operations upon completing a five-year science campaign at Jupiter. Juno remains in good health, but NASA officials have not said if they will approve another extension for the mission.”

Boeing Delivers 55 Aircraft in September
Reuters reports, “Boeing delivered 55 jets in September, up from 33 a year earlier when a strike by 33,000 factory workers in the Northwest curtailed production, the planemaker said on Tuesday. The total, broadly steady from August’s 57 deliveries, marked Boeing’s strongest September since 2018, when it handed over 87 jets but it still lagged rival Airbus, which delivered 73 aircraft last month.”

(GA-ASI) has delivered an MQ-9A Reaper® Block 5 Extended Range (ER) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). The aircraft was officially handed over on April 22, 2025, and is now assigned to Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1), located at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Arizona.”

Lockheed Martin Delivers 110 F-35s in 2024
Reuters reports, “Lockheed Martin delivered a total of 110 F-35 fighter jets to the United States and its allies in 2024, the Bethesda, Maryland-based defense contractor said in a statement on Wednesday. The delivery total achieves the higher end of the range of 75 to 110 jet deliveries CEO Jim Taiclet gave in an earnings call last summer.”

Elliott Aviation Delivers First King Air Upgrade
Aviation International News reports that Elliott Aviation “has performed its first completion and delivery of the Garmin Autoland upgrade in a King Air B200.” Designed as a safety measure, the Autoland system “in an emergency situation can take control of an aircraft and autonomously land itself at the nearest suitable airport.” According to Elliott, the modification “represents the next chapter in the evolution of the Garmin G1000 NXI package for the King Air family.”
