Aerotime reports Boeing has been awarded $450.5M by the USAF to modernize Japan’s F-15J fleet, incorporating advanced radars, electronic warfare, and mission systems. The uprades “will significantly enhance Japan’s air defense fleet’s operational capabilities and situational awareness. Additionally, the Japan Super Interceptor variant will have the capability to launch Lockheed Martin’s Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM).”

F-15EX Eagle II Completes First Operational Test Mission
ExecutiveGov reports that the US Air Force “recently completed the first-ever operational test mission of its new Boeing F-15EX Eagle II fighter aircraft at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.” The F-15EX “features a new digital fly-by-wire control technology signaling a departure from its predecessor’s standard hydro-mechanical system” and the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWS), “which provides both electronic attack and defense capabilities for missions involving advanced threats and areas with denied communications.”
