Aviation Week reported that a series of tests at GE Aerospace’s Evendale, Ohio, site are being validated in order to make improvements on CFM International’s LEAP 1 engine to impart CFM56-like durability to the aircraft propulsion system.

GE Lends Helping Hands to Jet Engine Suppliers to Sidestep Supply-Chain Challenges
Reuters reported that GE Aerospace CEO Larry Culp said the company has sent dozens of machinists and hundreds of engineers to component suppliers in an effort to address some of the supply chain problems affecting the global aviation industry.

GE to Split into Three Companies
Bloomberg reports that General Electric is to split up into three separate companies, each “focused on health care, power and aviation.” The healthcare division “will be spun off in early 2023.” GE’s “renewable energy, power equipment and digital businesses” will be combined into a separate unit “that will then be spun off in 2024.” The remaining company will be GE Aviation, “the company’s engine-manufacturing operation.”
