NASA Confirms Boeing Starliner Astronauts Will Return Home on SpaceX Dragon in 2025
SPACE reports that NASA decided Saturday (Aug. 24) to return its two Boeing Starliner astronauts to Earth in February 2025. Their Starliner capsule will come back empty over thruster concerns. “NASA and Boeing jointly decided that Williams and Wilmore will not head back to Earth aboard the same Starliner capsule that brought them to the ISS. Rather, they will climb aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule for their descent to our planet, a vessel dedicated to the Crew-9 mission set to launch in September that will be modified to accommodate the Starliner astronauts.”

SpaceX Plans to Launch Starship Up to 25 Times in 2025
Gizmodo reports, “SpaceX has big plans for its Starship rocket. After a groundbreaking test flight, in which the landing tower caught the booster, the company’s founder and CEO Elon Musk wants to see the megarocket fly up to 25 times next year, working its way up to a launch rate of 100 flights per year, and eventually a Starship launching on a daily basis.

SpaceX Targeting Record-Breaking 170 Orbital Launches in 2025
SPACE reports, “SpaceX will end up launching an orbital mission nearly every other day in 2025, if all goes according to plan. “We’re targeting 170 launches by the end of the year,” Anne Mason, director of national security space launch at SpaceX, said during a call with reporters on Wednesday (May 28). That would shatter the company’s single-year record of 134 orbital liftoffs, which was set just last year.”
