Pratt & Whitney Sees Aftermarket Momentum Building in 2026
Aviation Week reports, “Pratt & Whitney is projecting high-single-digit commercial aftermarket growth in 2026, bolstered by strength in several areas. Upticks in volume within Pratt’s biggest large-engine programs, the PW1000G geared turbofan (GTF) and the IAE V2500, will drive the engine-maker’s MRO business this year.”

Northrop Sees Return to Growth in Space Business Following 2025 Decline
Via Satellite reports, “Northrop Grumman’s Space segment saw an 8% decline in sales in 2025, but the company is projecting a return to growth in 2026. Northrop Grumman reported full-year sales on Tuesday. Space Systems sales in 2025 were $10.8 billion, a decline of $960 million compared to 2024. The company attributed the decline to work winding down on a canceled classified space program and the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program, which was awarded to Lockheed Martin.”

Airbus Is Hiring Thousands of Workers for Aircraft Production Increase
Reuters reports that Airbus is better prepared for the challenge of securing enough people to handle jet production increases than it was before the pandemic, a senior executive said. The European planemaker plans a two-thirds increase in production of best-selling A320neo-family single-aisle jets to 75 a month in 2026 from 45 now. In Germany, its second-largest base, Airbus plans to hire 3,500 staff for the second year in a row to handle the ramp-up and feed projects on decarbonization and industrial systems.
