The Wall Street Journal reports Airbus set a record for the highest number of orders in a single year, with 2,319 gross orders last year, more than doubling its orders compared to 2022 and 29.1% higher than its 1,796 record set in 2014.

Used Helo Sales Dip as Prices Continue to Rise
Aviation International News reports that Consultancy Aero Asset “is reporting that retail sales of used turbine single-engine helicopters in the first half of this year were down 60 percent and supply was 70 percent higher versus the first six months of 2022.” During the first half, 58 helicopters valued at $132 million “were sold out of 108 units for sale, the latter representing an 8.5-month supply at the current absorption rate.” However, upward pricing pressure “is continuing, driven by the arrival of low-time helicopters onto the market combined with increasing OEM lead time for new deliveries.” Prices rose 11% year-over-year while OEM lead time increased by 23%.

Airbus Helicopters Unveils Continuing Robust Sales When it Comes to US Medical Market
Aviation International News reports that “Japan Aerospace (JAC) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) have signed an agreement with Dart Aerospace to design and certify a fire attack system for the new five-blade Airbus Helicopters H145.” KHI “is partnering with JAC to help test, certify, and install the tank with Dart on the H145.”

General Atomics Preparing for Massive MQ-9B Sale to Saudi Arabia
Defense News reports, “General Atomics is preparing to offer a package deal to Saudi Arabia to acquire a number of MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones, company executives said in an interview at the IDEX arms fair in Abu Dhabi. “We are still in the very early stages but are pursuing this hard as there is a huge interest coming from Saudi regarding the MQ-9B — we expect they have significant requirements [for these drones] that could result in many of tens of thousands of jobs in the U.S. if we were to close that sale,” Dave Alexander, president of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, told Defense News.”
