Space News reports, “Controllers scrubbed the first attempt to launch Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner on a crewed test flight May 6 because of a valve problem with the rocket, delaying the launch by at least four days. The launch director for the Atlas 5 rocket called for the scrub a little more than two hours before the scheduled 10:34 p.m. Eastern launch of the Crew Flight Test mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.”

SpaceX’s Starlink Launch Scrubs Seconds Before Liftoff, Rescheduled for Weekend
Florida Today reports that SpaceX’s latest attempt “at launching another batch of Starlink internet satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station was scrubbed just seconds before liftoff early Friday.” Originally set to fly “during an hour-and-a-half long window that opened at 12:10 a.m. EDT, the mission to send 54 of the flat-pack satellites to low-Earth orbit was aborted forty seconds before liftoff from Launch Complex 40.” No reason “for the scrub was immediately provided by SpaceX.” SpaceX’s next opportunity “to launch the 230-foot rocket on a southeasterly trajectory is early Saturday, July 15, at 12:15 a.m. EDT.”

Second Launch of Blue Origin’s New Glenn Rocket Planned for Late Spring
Space News reports, “Blue Origin expects to attempt its second New Glenn launch in late spring after correcting problems that prevented the booster from landing on the first launch last month. Speaking at the 27th Annual Commercial Space Conference here Feb. 12, Dave Limp, chief executive of Blue Origin, suggested a propulsion issue of some kind caused the loss of the New Glenn booster during its landing attempt on the Jan. 16 NG-1 launch. ‘We had most of the right conditions in the engine but we weren’t able to get everything right to the engine from the tanks,’ he said. ‘We think we understand what the issues are.’

Blue Origin Scrubs Debut Launch of its New Glenn Rocket
The New York Times reports, “There’s a new rocket that’s never flown waiting on a launchpad in Florida. It’s called New Glenn and it’s going to have to stay there a little longer. On Monday, propellants were loaded into the vehicle and a countdown clock started. Then the clock was reset again. And again. And again.”

Launch of NASA’s SPHEREx and PUNCH Missions Scrubbed Due to Spacecraft Issue and Poor Weather
Spaceflight Now reports, “Update March 11, 12:39 a.m. ET: NASA and SpaceX scrubbed the launch attempt Monday night. NASA is preparing to launch its first ride share flight in support of the Science Mission Directorate with two missions flying on the same Falcon 9 rocket. However, a last-minute issue what NASA described as “a SPHEREx ground data-flow issue” cause the mission to scrub.”
