Materials Start-Up Panel

Start-up companies play a unique “enabler” role to vet novel research ideas and results in commercial applications and markets, but are a currently-untapped resource for the AIAA community. In this panel session, representatives from start-up companies focused on innovative materials science will present their products, operations, and vision for future directions, to enlighten and encourage the audience about potential future collaboration.

Engineering Apollo: Flight Simulation

This session will explore how simulation was used to develop the Apollo spacecraft, train the Apollo astronauts, and conduct integrated mission simulations, enabling the success of the Apollo lunar landing program. We will discuss the Apollo Mission Simulator and the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle and their impact on the program with key Apollo participants.

Igniting Tomorrow: Stories from America’s Favorite Museum

Ellen Stofan will discuss changes to how we move around our planet and how astronauts observe it from space, as well as changes to who gets to go to space, and how her museum tells that story to inspire the next generation of innovators and explorers.
