NASA, SpaceX Aim for July 31 for Launch of Crew-11 Astronaut Mission

SPACE reports NASA and SpaceX are targeting July 31 for the launch of the four-astronaut Crew-11 mission, which will fly a mix of rookies and spaceflight veterans to the ISS. “The flight, called Crew-11, will lift off atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex-39A (LC-39A), at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, sending the Crew Dragon Endeavour to low Earth orbit (LEO).”

Joby Delivers First Electric Air Taxi to UAE

Flying Magazine reports, “Before arriving in the U.S., electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air taxis are expected to debut in the Middle East. This week, they moved one step closer. Joby Aviation, developer of the piloted, four-passenger S4, on Monday announced it delivered its first air taxi to the United Arab Emirates. Joby has a six-year agreement with the Emirate of Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) that it says gives it exclusive rights to operate an air taxi service in the area. The company anticipates the UAE’s first passenger-carrying S4 flights in 2026, slightly later than the initial 2025 target it set when that deal was announced.

Blue Origin New Shepard Launches 6 Tourists on Suborbital Trip from West Texas

SPACE reports, “Blue Origin sent its 70th person into space today (June 29) on its 13th rocket flight to carry passengers. The company’s New Shepard suborbital launch vehicle lifted off Saturday at 9:39 a.m. CDT (10:39 a.m. EDT or 1439 GMT) from its Launch Site One in West Texas. On board were husband and wife Allie and Carl Kuehner, Leland Larson, Freddie Rescigno, Jr., Owolabi Salis and James Sitkin.”

York Space’s Dragoon Launches Aboard SpaceX Falcon 9

Space News reports, “A U.S. military satellite built by York Space Systems launched to orbit June 23 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The spacecraft, named Dragoon, lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-14 mission — a rideshare flight carrying dozens of small satellites for government and commercial customers.”
