Ashley Purkey Manager, Boeing Research and Technology, Aerodynamics Analysis and Testing The Boeing Company
Ashley Purkey received a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University and a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Washington University-St. Louis. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Ashley was hired at The Boeing Company in St. Louis in March of 2009. She began working in the flight loads group and assisted on numerous wind tunnel tests and flight tests. In 2010, Ashley began working with the training systems group and helped develop training systems for the F-18. In 2011, Ashley began working in the flight test group as a flight test requirements and analysis engineer. In this role, she spent most of her time working in Patuxent River, Maryland where she was the lead Aerodynamics and Loads data focal for the P8-A. In 2012, Ashley began working on the UCLASS program as a Propulsion engineer where she was the lead on a ground engine test. In this role, she successfully led a large group from the pre-test meeting through the completion of the test. In 2014, Ashley moved to Boeing Research and Technology and took on a job as a Propulsion/ Aerodynamics Computational Fluid Dynamics engineer. In this role, Ashley works full time supporting proprietary programs where she is in charge of creating a full-scale database for a new conceptual aircraft. In 2018, Ashley accepted the role as the Aerodynamics Analysis and Testing manager for Boeing Research and Technology. In this role, she leads the CFD development and applications team in St. Louis, Missouri. In her spare time, Ashley loves to spend time with her husband Kevin and son Konnor. She is also a member of the Professional Women's Bowling Association and spends her summers competing all around the United States on the Professional Women's bowling tour.
