Mike Armstrong Chief Technology Officer Electric Power Systems
Dr. Michael Armstrong is the Chief Technology Officer at Electric Power Systems. In this role, he is responsible for the technical development of light weight, flight certified battery technologies, and innovative battery-based integrated propulsion systems. Dr. Armstrong has led multiple grounds up battery design, demonstration, test, and deployment programs. Prior to his role at EP Systems Dr. Armstrong was the hybrid propulsion lead for Rolls-Royce LibertyWorks where he was the principal investigator and design lead on multiple electrified aircraft propulsion systems concept development programs. These include programs in support the SUGAR Volt, N3-X, ECO-150, and other smaller on demand mobility aircraft. He has published over 25 scholarly articles in the areas of advanced design methods, engine integrated electrical systems, and aircraft electric propulsion and has filed over 20 patents. He holds He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University and Masters and PhD in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
