Mr. Keith Kosan is a senior government civilian with leadership and experience in tactical aviation, electronic warfare, training, Joint operations/organizations, highly classified special access programs, developmental and operational test, missile defense, strategic planning, policy and execution, and senior Department of Defense leadership executive support.  Most recent experience has been in government developmental test and program acquisition. 

In his current position as the Director of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Advanced Technology Test, he provides senior leadership guidance and accountability to government civilian and contractor support personnel in direct support of MDA Advanced Technology test planning, integration and execution.   

Mr. Kosan graduated from Wright State University in 1985 and was commissioned in the US Air Force.  He has held various assignments in flying units including instructor electronic warfare officer in the EF-111A and experimental flight test weapon systems officer in the F-15E.  He is a graduate of the US Air Force’s Test Pilot School and School of Advanced Air and Space Studies.  

He has served as Chief of Acquisition Programs for the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force and commanded the 40th Flight Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.  He is a graduate of Industrial College of the Armed Forces and he served as Chief, Combined Test Force Test Operations and Deputy Director of the Combined Test Force for MDA.  

Mr. Kosan also served as Commander of the 46th Operations Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.  He retired from the US Air Force in 2010.  Prior to serving as the Director, Advanced Technology Test, he was Deputy Director for MDA Ground Test, Wargames and Exercise and the VP, Defense Studies for Leadership Strategy Inc. He is married to the former Miss Cynthia Schattel.  They have 3 children: Katie, Adam and Benjamin.
