Wallis Laughrey Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer Raytheon Intelligence & Space

Wallis Laughrey is vice president and Chief Transformation Officer for Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a business of Raytheon Technologies. He leads growth initiatives; technology and investment planning; and the development of other strategic efforts to transform RI&S to effectively, predictably and affordably respond to customer mission needs. 

Previously, Laughrey was vice president of Space & C2 Systems for RI&S, where he developed the organization’s vision, strategy and plans for electro-optical, infrared and radar-based space payloads, as well as for command-and-control technology. 

Laughrey is an experienced engineer and program leader with a background in industry and prior service in the Air Force. Before his roles at RI&S, he led the Space Systems mission area at Raytheon Company’s Space and Airborne Systems business prior to Raytheon Company’s merger with United Technologies Corporation in 2020. 

Before joining Space Systems, Laughrey was vice president for Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems and deputy of Advanced Concepts and Technology, an internal research and development organization. Laughrey came to Raytheon from Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, where he was director of Strike Systems Advanced Development and held a number of program and functional positions. Prior to Northrop, Laughrey was with Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems as program manager for a family of products employed on the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.  

Laughrey holds memberships in the Air Force Association, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and National Defense Industrial Association professional organizations. Laughrey is also a member of the California Science Center Board of Trustees and a member of the National Security Space Board of Directors. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy, a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Colorado, a master’s degree in product development engineering from the University of Southern California and a certificate in advanced project management from Stanford University.
