This course will enhance your soft skills in a technical environment to support individual growth. You will learn communication, networking, negotiation, and career planning skills as you look to taking those next steps in your aerospace career.

This course intended for early and mid-career professionals looking to gain the non-technical skills necessary to go further in their careers.
Class 1: I’ve Got A Great Design. Now, How Do I Sell It?
An engineer may have the greatest design or piece of analysis in the world but if you can’t communicate it to the right people in the right way your design will never be realized. How do you do that? What happens if you need to present to a coworker? A manager? A CEO? A customer? Each of these require slightly different approaches. These skills will help you not only be a better engineer, but also help you in your career advancement as you learn how to present information in a more meaningful manner.

No matter what we do we only ever have 24 hours in a day. Time is one of our most precious commodities. How can we most effectively utilize those hours? What can we do to stretch our time? Effective time management can help increase productivity and reduce stress. These tutorials explore time management tips that focus on prioritization, planning, learning to say no and understanding resources. Increase your time management skills to stay organized, keep a clear mind, and be more productive—in work and life.

Where do you want to be in 5, 10, or 20 years? How do you get to where you want to be? How could you get to that dream position faster? You are constantly negotiating in life whether it be with colleagues, customers, suppliers, bosses, family, or friends. While we don’t have control over whether we negotiate or not we do have control on whether we negotiate better or worse than others. Learn tools and tactics to increase your skills as an ethical negotiator. Transform your stress of negotiations into confidence as you enjoy dramatically better outcomes for all parties involved.
Class 6: Leadership Transitions – But I’ve Never Done That Before?
I used to be the expert, now I’m the boss – help! You’ve been successful in your area of expertise as an individual contributor and been promoted to the next level – managing and leading those you just worked with! Eck! These areas include work values, time allocation and capabilities. Learn how to rise to becoming a leader who can motivate and enliven attitudes in your team.
Class 7: Feedback as a Survival Skill: 5 Steps to Improve Giving Feedback

Class 8: The Basics of Strategic Planning
